For 2018, girls at Under 7 & Under 9 level will continue to train and play matches with the boys in their respective age groups. For girls in school years 4-9 we will be holding 14 indoor pre-season training sessions for girls only, starting on Sunday 21st Jan at Garth Hill College (11:00-12:00). After our final indoor session at the end of April, we will be moving outdoors to the Memorial Ground. Outdoor training sessions will run weekly on Monday nights, 18:00-19:30 through to mid-September.
Warfield Wrens & Robins U12 Team
Our two U12 team (Wrens & Robins) will be two of 19 teams competing in the Berkshire U12 Girls Competition in 2017. The competition involves summer festivals (held usually on Sundays) where the team plays three round robin matches (9 overs per side) against other teams. The teams are 6 a-side and all the matches are played with a soft ‘incrediball’.
Match Manager: Jamie Birchall
Assistant Manager: Dan Torry
One of Warfield CC's main objectives in the launching our Junior cricket section in 2015 was to get both boys and girls in the local area playing cricket. In 2016, we formed our Girls U12 team who compete in the Berkshire Youth Cricket League. Since then, the Wrens team has become one of the biggest success stories at the club, recording many victories, whilst also expanding dramatically in size! In 2018, we hope to launch a second U12s side and an U14s team that will also compete in the BYCL!
All girls from the ages of 6-14 are welcome!
